This state of the art countertop product will be the ice breaker. It's so easy to use and yet so many are skeptical. It does exactly what this article says.
A small amount in a mold changes the surface properties of the countertop mix.
O.K. NPN, works wonders. When you pour countertops and are not wanting bug holes or voids, consolidating and vibrating may be your answer. When using semi-smooth surfaces like melamine the concrete doesn't move together as well as it does on plexiglass. Plexiglass allows the concrete to move together better and the vibration is telescoped through the concrete at a much higher rate than if the concrete is directly on another surface.
NOW. We've got that out of the way. When pouring concrete, many times we experience the chalky film on the concrete when we turn it over. The chalky film is there even when you use plexiglass. When pouring on plexiglass, if the chalky film were not there, you would have a very smooth finish, half of the polishing done for you already.
OK. Got that out of the way. The purpose of the "NPN", is to eliminate the chalky film and at the same time create a high gloss finish when the plexiglass is removed. The "NPN", is a combination 3 seperate raw components. These components are absorbed into the surface of the concrete during the peak setting time of the concrete. When the concrete is curing or getting hard, the NPN becomes part of the concrete preventing the efloresence and creating the deep gloss appearance.
A small amount goes a long ways.
